Employment Opportunities

Historical Designs Workshop
I am always looking for stitchers and tailors to add to our team! Historical Designs offers Women's corsetry, underpinnings and day wear, as well as Menswear ranging from the Renaissance to the Edwardian Era with an emphasis on the Regency and Renaissance Periods. My clients reenact the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and English & American Civil Wars, others play royalty at Renaissance Faires, and still others are Jane Austen enthusiasts who attend tea parties, balls, and Festivals. I always need help building chemises, gowns, and menswear! Always, always!

If you are interested in building reenactment-quality clothing and learning new skills in the process, I would love to speak with you! You must have knowledge of Period clothing, basic tailoring skills, and a strong work ethic! Theatre experience is a good foundation. A home sewing station with a serger is required.

My workshop is located in rural Maryland but working through the mail is an easy way around the commute! I provide notions and pre-cut pieces for you to build. Sometimes you're building the whole thing, sometimes you're roughing out, sometimes you're doing finishing work. It's all discussed and agreed upon ahead of time. I pay a fixed rate for piecework that increases as your proficiency increases and your shipping charges are reimbursed each time.
