This listing is for a Custom Order 18th Century Georgian corset cut in the 1770s style. It is made of unbleached cotton coutil (shown in pic 4) and boned throughout with 1/4" steel boning. The front is further reinforced by interspersing 1/2" boning between the 1/4" pieces. On the inside of the front panel, a piece of 1/4" boning is also hand stitched in perpendicular to the boning channels. This gives the corset front its archetypical 18th Century conical shape. The corset laces closed in back and at the shoulders.

This corset can also be covered in a colored or printed cotton, linen (pics 1-3), or dupioni silk. Printed, woven, or embroidered silk can also be used as a covering and a separate invoice will be issued for the cost of the fabric.

**The Plain Coutil option is shown in pic 4. Unbleached coutil is foundation fabric and cannot be dyed. If you would like another color please select either the Cotton Covered, Linen Covered, or Silk Covered option.**

I patterned this corset off of a well known vintage pattern from the 1770s known as the Diderot stays pattern. To achieve the look of whale boning while also providing enough support was a challenge. I chose this pattern because it has narrow boning channels and wider channels so could use heavier weight boning to sure up the front while remaining aesthetically in keeping with the 18th Century corset "look."

**For a more historical look, add hand bound eyelets (instead of metal grommets) to your order for an additional $25! An example is shown in pic 5! **
