This listing is for a Custom Order Late Regency corded and gusseted corset worn from 1820-1840. The corset is made of white medium weight cotton twill fabric with a soft, brushed finish. It has gussets across the hips and bust and is edged with white bias tape. It is stiffened in front with a wooden busk, cotton cording throughout the body and steel boning in back. This corset laces in back and at the shoulders. A drawstring may need to be added to the bustline for a more secure fit. The corded corset is the precursor to the hourglass corsets of the rest of the 19th Century. This style flatters the ever lowering waistline and higher necklines that mark the end of the Regency and beginning of the Victorian period.
